What inspired SubsOrdinals? When I first saw them as they were being inscribed I wondered if they were in a Bdsm Dom and sub kind of relationship?

Exactly! Thanks so much for noticing! They were initially going to be called “Floordinals”. But that name was already taken. Then my good buddy @borginalprime came up with the name “Subordinals” also taken….. Then I shortened it into “SUBS” and that became my accidental twitter handle…. which is growing on me as my identity on BTC Ordinals TBH.

As far as the BDSM theme goes. Mr. Kinky and Mr. Gimpy were the first 2 I had in mind for this collection.

So there was always a plan for a boot or shoe above that the characters would be subservient to. It was ALSO my goal to have a few characters break that fourth wall, which I always think is alot of fun…..

How did you discover ordinals and how has your journey been thus far?

I first heard about them in late February/Early March listening in the audience in a farokh space (still waiting to be invited up farokh!!!! hahaha) , then shortly thereafter in a Leap space.

I snoozed unfortunately until NFT Paris….. Then at the event I drew the first few SUBS as some new friends were telling me all about ordinals.

Back then I heard you needed your own node to inscribe which scared me as a luddite. My friends advised me to start collecting, which I wish I did, but I snoozed until March.

Late April/Early March I started stacking characters. By around March 10th or so I was ready to inscribe all 100 and some platforms popped up making it easier, but BTC was pumping and dumping so fees were sky high!

Uggggh! I had to wait a little over a week until March 21st to be able to afford the bulk inscription.

Fore some reason, I thought I had to do them all in one whack. So I shudder to think about the much earlier inscription numbers I could have got!

It’s completely fine where I’m at tho, still sub 1 milly. SUBS are about halfway sold out and we’re building something rad here.

We also have PIGGY (not the 1 milly inscription but the Magic Eden Collection) and we plan on making an official announcement about utility for both collections soon.

For now, every SUBS holder gets a free already inscribed airdrop of my next collection we are lovingly calling “MOP” (Mystery Ordinals Project) PIGGY started off red hot during the weekend of the 1 milly inscription, but is waiting to heat up again…..

Your thoughts on Bitcoin Bugsy stolen ordinals #2085?

Oooof. That’s a tough one….. Bugsy is a knowledgable and helpful cat in this space and his advice to myself and the SUBS community was invaluable.

My honest thought is this…… A. It blows and happens to the best of us…. B. I have a few friends from the ETH space that got multiple cryptopunks stolen (one buddy had 20 snaked).

Both of my friends got massive support from the punks community and funds were raised to buy them back in.

I hope the hacker doesn’t read this article and price gouge us. But count me IN help out anyway I can….. As a seafaring man, deffo NOT a landlubber…. That photo is stunning, and that inscription number is obv. ….. So Bugsy, if you’re listening pal…… lets get you your beach back!
