I first discovered them on Twitter and in my opinion they are the golden standard of inscription services.

We are deeply honored to present to you this historic first exclusive Interview ever with Ordinalsbot.

Ordinalsbot

What are the origins of Ordinalsbot because you were super early in the space and one of the OG inscription services. How did you get into the ordinals rabbit hole?

Our founders are hardcore native bitcoiners and have been in bitcoin for 10 years.

We work on Lightning, nostr, taproot and all the cutting edge bitcoin tech. So when we heard about ordinals we immediately saw the influx of users. They would need a way to inscribe easily from their phone without a full node.

We spun it up over an afternoon and then demand was so insane our servers crashed!

Ordinalsbot is the best satsnames inscription service!

Many people want to know if you will soon be supporting inscription payments in Fiat? That would help to onbord millions of people into ordinals and btc!

Currently we are working on more than a few big announcements, we’ve been busy heads down building and envisioning the future of ordinals and we are very bullish.

Fiat payments are definitely on our roadmap but little known fact right now it’s actually very easy for someone in US to pay us with fiat from their bank account!

All you need is Cash App or Strike, you can load it up with fiat from your bank, convert to Lightning and you can pay our invoices immediately without transaction fee. All within under 1 minute.

The Ordinalsbot team are also creators of Satoshibles.

Are you going to be a market place for ordinals as well or will remain purely an inscription service?

As mentioned previously, we’ll be building the best place for inscriptions end to end but we refuse to take the makeshift approach some of the newcomers are taking.

Cutting corners in protocol and product design for short term gain hurts both users and the ecosystem as a whole. It’s short-sighted to build closed source wallets, custodial server side wallets without interoperability.

Similarly trust-based, walled-garden marketplaces lead to fragmented liquidity, user confusion and bad UX. Not to mention the eventual risk of rug-pulls, we must do better than these.

We are taking our time to build the required infrastructure, tools and soon we’ll share with everyone our vision, a better path for ordinals.

Everything we do, we think about scalability and how to ensure a healthy future for data on bitcoin. We are here for the long haul.

You have the coolest image optimization feature embedded into the inscription service. That’s a real game changer and you were the first to offer this. You are definitely saving folks a lot of money. Can you please explain how the feature works?

We’re very proud of our image optimization solution and many other ways we optimize for fees. We put a lot of effort to making sure it’s compressing to the extreme but also not giving up on quality. Also need to mention, we believe in being a good steward of bitcoin network.

We’ll continue on working ways to ensure precious block space is used efficiently. Not just to save on fees (although it’s important!) but because bitcoin is important to us. We know how many people around the world depend on it for life & death situations.

Fun Fact: Brian Laughlan (@bruffstar) is the co-founder of OrdinalsBot.com and the creator of @satoshibles!

Some btc purists have their reservations on ordinals. Do you think ordinals are good for the Bitcoin network?

Bitcoin is many things to many people. Although I understand the reaction to non-fungibility being introduced to bitcoin and the concern of low fee use-cases being priced out, I don’t agree with any group of people dictating what can and can not be done on bitcoin.

The only rules are the consensus rules and if consensus rules are allowing use of ordinals such that majority of nodes agree that there’s nothing wrong with stuffing bytes into witness data then there’s no analytical counter-argument to be made.
The way forward is to ensure we build efficient ways to use the block space.

We’re already working on ways to accomplish more on ordinals with the least amount of block space. We’ll share more about these publicly in the near future.
