We are deeply honored to present this exciting exclusive Interview with one of the most professional women in web3.
Klaudia Shabani is a 31 year old Communications and Marketing expert at Freename, the blockchain domains company that is disrupting the industry with decentralized TLD ownership and royalties.
She is a digital futurist and her super power skills with social media, communications and marketing are legendary.

I have listened to several Freename podcasts in which you do a most wonderful job as co-host. Can you explain what Freename TLDs and slds are and why people should get involved with the project?
Thanks, I appreciate it.
Freename is a project I strongly believe in and I honestly think it will revolutionize web3 domain naming system and I’m really working hard on creating a community who believe in the same things as we do and having an #FNfam is crucial.
Freename is a web3 naming system. This means that on freename.io you can actually get your custom web3 domain name/sld and your custom TLD ( TOP LEVEL DOMAIN).
NFT Domains / TLDs are essentially unique and valuable NFTs but with superpowers!
In fact we’re working hard on integrations to make their usability grow by the week, by implementing useful features as wallet to wallet transfer & email functionality.
It could represent your digital identity, login feature on web3 and you could use it to build you metaverse avatar.
It is your crypto wallet of course and many more features to come!
I firmly believe this is the future we’re headed and people better jump on this ship sooner than later.

Freename is decentralizing TLD ownership in a manner unlike anything we have seen in web3 and it is the only company offering 50% royalties on slds sales to TLD owners. Can you explain what inspired this revolutionary concept?
We wanted to provide a fair deal to our Registrars and to incentivate people in promoting their TLDs.
In fact we do send out regular newsletters with ideas on how to do so and how to become successful registrars.
We think that by being TLD owners there is a great possibility of earning and generating passive income and if you only think about the fact there can be registered a possibly of infinite number of domains on each TLD, then the revenue potential could be huge!
Web3 TLDs are definitely the future and becoming a Registrar is the future we’re already living and people are gradually beginning to understand that.

There is talk of Freename ushering another revolutionary move, with a BILL OF RIGHTS FOR TLD OWNERS that Freename is working on with TLD owners. Can you comment on this and explain why this is revolutionary?
We want TLD owners to be the decision maker for the ecosystem built on their own top level domains. Right now users can already decide to set their TLDs as public or private and in 2023 they will be able to set up the price range for the SLDs registered on their own TLDs. This important feature is a big step which makes Freename the unique platform where everyone can become a Registrar.
Naming collisions are one area in the decentralized domain space that is bound to happen between various players. What is Freename doing to avoid naming collisions?
Freename has built the first Web3 WHOIS a unique platform that allows everyone to check information for web3 domains of Freename, Unstoppable and ENS. Users can look for any domains to check if it’s already been purchased and can also check which are the domains minted on specific wallets!

Trademarks and brands are very important and some TLDs could potentially collide with trademark owners. What is Freename doing to ensure that every trademark is protected ?
Freename is already blocking brands and other protected words – as well as forbidden terms on a juridical perspective. The blacklisting process is run on a daily basis to be as perfect as possibile.

Freename also allows TLD owners to register trademarks. However it is notoriously difficult to trademark a tld. Has Freename successfully registered any TLDs and could you give examples of such tlds and how the trademark process works with Freename?
Freename trademark service is a valid solution for the users to protect TLDs juridically and on a global scale. Trademark process with Freename is fast, within few days the trademark requested by the user is deposited at the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IGE.ch).
The TLD is trademarked for 3 classes, one of them is the 45 which is related to domain names space.
An example of a trademarked TLDs is .MOON, which can be found among the trademarks of Freename on Official WIPO database.
More information about trademarks can be found on the Freename TM section.
Freename pays 50% royalties to TLD owners and this is a very good thing. However, some TLD owners would like the percentage to be 30% in line with what Apple store charges apps. Is this something that Freename is willing to consider in the near future or will they instead reduce the royalty percentage for TLD owners?
For the moment 50% is the Royalty percentage and there aren’t any changes in plan. By the way, any decision about this kind of changes will be taken into consideration only after asking community.
When are detailed royalty statements coming to Freename so that TLD owners will have a comprehensive picture of what sld was sold, when it was sold and for how much it was sold? And will TLD owners be able to download the royalties statement?
It’s a feature we are working on and it will be live early 2023. Right now users who’d like to receive a statement can get in touch with:
support@freename.io and they will get a fast reply.

What utilities are coming to Freename besides web browser extension? Will there be wallet intergrations in the future and other utilities on Freename slds?
Browser extension, Web3 WHOIS, Referral Programs are coming within 2022. More to come in 2023 to make Freename a full and unique Web3 domains name ecosystem. Stay tuned and check our public roadmap for the next product communications!
