Exclusive Interview with #Bitcoin #Crypto Digital Asset Investor SarahAdams.Crypto @SjayAdams #Udfam

By Web3ArtBlog.NFT

She bought 1 bitcoin way back when it was only a 100 bucks! Legendary staff! She is crypto OG with a tale to tell, so pay attention and learn from her experience. Her collection of NFT domains is well thought through. If you would like to start investing in NFT domains, you can get one for as little as $5 here. Ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, I present to you the Unstoppable SarahAdams.Crypto!

You are a Crytpo and Digital asset investor. How did you get into the rabbit hole? What is your origins story?

I discovered bitcoin back in 2013 where I was able to purchase 1 bitcoin for $100!! Back then, there weren’t any exchanges available in my country (that I knew of due to limited info) only blockchain.com which limited you to how much you could buy at the time. However, I found a way! Unfortunately, this way led me to the infamous MtGox hack, and this is when I lost all confidence in investing.

Reflecting on it now, I wish I had chosen to learn more over the years after the hack instead of just giving up. But I’ve learnt the hard and long way and now here I am, feeling a lot more confident, using more of my time to learn, more time to dive down into the rabbit hole, and more time to make better choices on my investments.

Knowledge truly is power and that’s probably the first thing I would say to anyone looking to invest. Do your research and understand what it is you are investing in as well as how to invest and don’t leave it on a central exchange.

“Not your keys, not your crypto!”.

Although I had my eye on the price of Btc over the years, 2020/21 is when I really got back into investing in crypto. Then I found NFTs! At the moment NFTs are mainly focused around art, fashion, music, collectibles and domains but like most people I do believe this is only the beginning and they will become so much more in a not-so-distant future! (This space moves fast!!).

Although I missed the boat on some big NFTs through Opensea, I was aware that I couldn’t just buy anything and expect it to make me a profit or have utility, so I did my research, and this is when I found NFT Collectibles on VeVe.

They owned the rights to huge IPs including DC back then and I just knew they would have Marvel and Disney in the bag which they released on the app last year. Their collectibles are aesthetically beautiful, they have a lot of first appearances on the blockchain and utility wise, you can use them in AR which is so much fun.

It’s just like owning a physical collectible except you don’t need the space to store it! This just made so much sense to me to invest in and now we are seeing the company grow and introduce different utility to specific NFTs which is super exciting.

Still speculating Pokemon of course!! I had no idea how big the world of collecting was until I joined this app! Since then, I have diversified into many more NFT projects including domains through unstoppable domains. I chose unstoppable because I really liked the idea of true ownership especially in this space, among many other benefits! I believe that these domains are a very important part of the transition from Web2 to Web3.

Buy Your Own NFT Domain for as little as $5

Recently in the news it was reported that retired actor Bruce Willis has sold the IP rights of his face (He declined this of course) His face was then used by a Russian firm called Deepfake in an advertisement for a large corporation. You own a grail domain Avatarrentals.nft. How do you see the utility and role of avatars in the future of the metaverse? Will the estate of John Lenon rent out his official avatar in the Metaverse?

We are already seeing people use avatars throughout different platforms online either to hide their identity or be who they truly want to be and feel comfortable about it on that platform. I believe there will be a mix of different types of avatars depending on your social circle or what platform you are using. And then there will be the higher tier avatars that people will desire for the social status as well as the utility that might come with them. Utility that we are currently seeing are things like being part of a club and benefiting from early access or having the only access to different perks such as NFT drops and airdrops (which might also come with their own added utilities), access to IRL events, parties and meet-ups, having more ownership over a project that the avatar might be tied to where you are able to join private meetings, have your own say and possibly vote towards the direction you want it to go in. If the avatar is used for gaming, it might have specific characteristics or attributes that is desirable to a gamer. The possibility for utility is endless!

In terms of Bruce Willis owning the IP rights to his own face, I think that is so important as an individual in this space as it’s your own IRL identity. It might not stop all fraudsters and bad actors as that’s unfortunately the world we live in, but it does give you more protection and control over how and if you want to allow people to use it. If you are allowing use on the blockchain, more platforms would require this technology to be able to have access to it which I see as being really positive as it’s a lot more transparent in terms of where the avatar is or has been. I can imagine avatarrentals.nft to be a place in the future where avatars can be rented out by the owners and rented by people who either want access to its utility for a limited time or want the social status at a specific event in the metaverse. It might be that specific collaborations allow for owners to choose where in the metaverse it can go and how people can use their avatar. For people like Bruce Willis where it’s their own IRL identity, this would allow them to rent out with more control which is exactly what the blockchain is about, ownership and control over your own assets.

I can absolutely see the estate of John Lennon allowing rentals of his avatar in the metaverse. They might want to rent out to individuals who can help carry on his legacy but not necessarily need full access to it.

1 of 3000 Notorious B.I.G NFTs owned by SarahAdams.Crypto

I currently own 1 of 3000 Notorious B.I.G NFTs which were released by his estate on the OneOf platform. Holding this NFT gives me access and membership to the Sky’s The Limit Collective where members hold 100% voting rights on which artists, DJs, and musicians can remix or sample Biggie’s iconic “Fulton Street Freestyle”. All licensing, sales, and streaming revenue from the use of the freestyle will then be returned directly to the Collective to invest in future music projects, NFT collections, IRL events, other VIP activations, and more including access to The Brook Metaverse. What if I couldn’t make it to an IRL event but another huge fan could, or what if these can be used as avatars in the Brook Metaverse which someone really wanted access to but can’t buy the NFT? Having the ability to rent it out would totally solve this and it’s a win win on both sides!

Renfter

Recently I interviewed the Ceo and founder of Renfter, an uncollateralized NFT renting protocol that will make it possible for anyone to safely rent out their NFTs. You own Collectiblehire.nft and which digital collectibles do you think will become the most rented and why?

I think collectibles that are “blue chip” and out of peoples reach due to price and scarcity might be hired for events like parties, where people want to show them off. Being able to rent a scarce limited edition that everyone wants and then show it off at an event would be such a flex. Not only in the metaverse but at IRL events, we are already seeing technology that supports showing off collectible NFTs.
I can also see collectibles being rented out for gaming which will be huge. Again, it would be a flex to have a specific character or vehicle or weapon for a game so I believe there would be a huge demand for renting these types of collectibles especially if there aren’t many of them. Collectibles could be rented out for whatever utility is possible with them and the list of utility could go on from access to events, VIP areas, parties, dinners, meeting celebrities and so on. Whatever it is you’re into.

For Digital Asset Security Consider Buying Ledger or Other Hardware Wallets

Web3 has its fair share of scammers. Have you ever been rugged and if so, tell us your rug story?

Unfortunately, yes. I was part of one of the biggest crypto heists so far and that was the MtGox hack. As I mentioned earlier, this gave me the absolute fear! Now that we have so much more info available to us around rug pulls and how to keep our assets safe and secure, I am definitely trying to take the right steps to be extra careful.

Do you think there are enough women in Web3 and how do you see the role of women in the space? What would you like to see as a woman?

Web3 is just at the beginning, it’s expanding and there’s always going to be space for more of any gender whenever they decide to join. There are opportunities for everyone here, you just need to take that first step and find them or create them. I am part of communities where women are absolutely thriving. It might be male dominant at the moment but there’s always going to be room for more women.

There’s still so many people that aren’t involved in this space yet, but they will come. I think that women could take up any role they wish to in this space, like I said there are so many opportunities for all of us. It’s just the case of taking those steps towards what you want from it. I started off as an investor, then a collector, then an artist/photographer.

I also play a part in some amazing projects including the Greb|Gekk|Gallery, WomenxVeVe and have been a collector on the tezos Whale Tank. I’m part of some fantastic communities which also opens you up to making great connections and opportunities as well as the amazing lifelong friendships! All within a couple of years of being in this space. There really is room to explore, grow and develop into the role you want for yourself. And that’s exactly what I’d like to see for others.

You own fractionaldisney.nft and fractionalizedassets.nft How do you see fractionalization developing in Web3 and why are you bullish on this?

I actually had no idea about fractional investing until last year when I was on the WomenXVeve panel interviewing Jeremy Padawer. He gave us some insight into the world of collecting and spoke about fractional investing. I think that it’s a great opportunity for new investors who want to invest or diversify in assets that might be out of their reach. It’s something that I have already seen happen in web3 with Banksy’s “Love is in the air” NFT which was fractionalized into 10,000 NFTs by the company, “Partical Collection”. They actually broke up the NFT artwork into squares so that the investors have part of it to hold as part of their investment which I think is a fun idea! I know we will see much more of this in the future of web3 investing.

You are also an excellent photographer. Have you thought about turning your best photographs into fractionalized NFTs?

Thank you! I’ve always enjoyed taking photos and have just done it for fun for a long time. Since exploring the world of web3, the metaverse and NFTs I decided to start sharing my photos with the world via the tezos blockchain. It’s absolutely amazing to see others enjoy my work and see it hung up in their galleries as well! I haven’t really thought about fractionalising my own photos if I’m being honest. Up until now I thought that fractionalisation would work best with well-known artists whose work is out of reach like Banksy or any other type of asset like property, land or collectibles that are out of reach.

But now that you’ve mentioned it, I’m sat here thinking about it… Any scarce or 1 of 1 asset could be fractionalized. Instead of creating 100 of the same photo to sell to 100 different people, I could create 1 but fractionalize it so that 100 people can own part of the more valuable 1 of 1. There is plenty of room for this type of collecting in web3 and this is an area currently not covered so much at the moment. There’s definitely opportunity here.

Do you have a boyfriend or a pet?

I have a boyfriend, but not a pet. He will have to do for now… Joke! I would love a dog though!

When you are not investing in Web3 or taking photos, what do you do to relax?

It’s hard to relax in this space as it’s always buzzing and I’m forever looking for the next best thing to invest in! But I do recognize the importance of self-care. I’m part of a community in Web3 where they hold a self-care Saturday twitter space, you don’t have to hold one of their Sadbunz NFTs to join but they are really cool collectibles!!

I try to join this space when I can as it’s a great way to open up and chat whether you’ve had a great week or a terrible week, everyone in the space is supportive and great at sharing their own experience or advice. I’m also a PT and take spin classes here and there and like to lift weights when I get the chance. Although this isn’t very relaxing at the time, it really does contribute towards feeling great. Other than that, I love to spend time with my family and friends.
