As a free speech maximalist, I take my freedom seriously to the extremes. This makes some people uncomfortable. But not Poyhonen.nft ! Johan Poyhonen aka Poyhonen.nft is one of the most tolerant people I have ever known.

I feel I can discuss any subject with him, from the mundane to complex matters and even deep esoteric subjects, that would make the average person close their ears and run off in the opposite direction. Poyhonen.nft can handle it all with graciousness, honesty and well-articulated responses.

Of all the amazing interviews I have done, this one has a very special place in my heart because I dared to ask Poyhonen.nft some difficult questions about subjects that many would dismiss outright for fear of being labeled a conspiracy theorist.

Now, let us take a deep dive down the Poyhonen.nft rabbit hole.

You are one of the 0gs who supported Unstoppable Domains from the very beginning, way before unicorn status, when there were only a few tlds: zil and crypto. How and why did you get into the unstoppable rabbit hole? What is your origins story?

I think I first heard of UD from an YT crypto-influencer, could have been Lark Davis or CryptoZombie, and I was pretty much hooked straight away. Listened to any interview that would pop up with Matt and Brad. On the weekends I sat at a café with my laptop just browsing through domain name ideas too see what was available. MUCH was available. I think this was in early spring 2019 something. At that point there was only .zil and there was no hint of any other TLDs coming later. I was hoping Zilliqa would become big, and my domains would become something bigger later on, but just owning my own un-censorable website on the new internet was enough for me to buy more than a hundred of them. The thought of flipping them for a quick profit had not even entered my mind. I mostly bought the names I thought was cool and useful and was going to hold them long term. Later when the .crypto was announced it blew my mind. The perfect name for a TLD at the time and on Ethereum too. I really went all in at that point. The excitement has never stopped with UD. It’s an adventure that is still rolling on with accelerating speed.

You were one of the first Ogs to inspire me about thinking beyond just flipping our NFT domains. Can you share your vision of valuable use cases of the digital assets in a world where free speech and fundamental freedoms are under threat?

Yes, as an engineer I see NFT-domains mainly as a very powerful tool. It gives back the control to the individual/owner and can become a great disruptor to the established structure we’ve had for a very long time. Its potential for constructive change is so dramatic that most people can hardly grasp it. Much like crypto is changing the world towards greater individual financial freedom, NFT-domains on Web3 may decentralize so much more. Unstoppable innovations and inventions, ideas of any kind with true free speech, alternative media and entertainment created and sponsored in a totally new way. With tools like this there is no need to bow down to authority. A big step towards the saying, Power to the People.

You self-Identify as an Anarchist, and you write on your Twitter profile that “I’m my own leader. Critical thinker, always strive for the truth and free will is paramount” How do you live out your world view in a world where so many world leaders and world rulers seem to be leading the world down a perilous and chaotic path?

Many think of some violent radical person when they hear the word anarchist, but it simply means to be without a ruler. I think a leader can be fitting in some situations like at a company or certain projects or in military situations… but in our society and civilization as a whole? I don’t think it’s proper. Leaving the control of our lives to such a great degree over to a central authority is just set up perfectly for the most horrific corruption. Power like this is better to decentralize. As for the world leaders of today, politics and such, I have no interest nor respect for. I see most of these actors as an embarrassment to humankind. I wish for people to take individual responsibility for their own lives rather than leave it in the hands of others. Personally I try to live as free as possible but I respect the law of the land.

You advocate Food Self-Sufficiency and you have GROWFOOD.CRYPTO for a project you want to launch to educate people about this very important topic. Don’t you think the world leaders and world governments will be able to assist people with enough food? For example, The United Nations has many food aid programs running in various nations to help save lives from starvation. Don’t you have faith in these global institutions to prevent world hunger and malnutrition?

I think food security is something most people don’t think so much about until the problem is at hand. Then it is often too late. Food production is to a great degree a centralized system with fairly few producers compared to the number of consumers. A disruption of either fertilizer, fuel for transport, electricity or the proper people in place can have catastrophic consequences and in worse cases even starvation of the population. If we decentralize food production by giving people everywhere the knowledge and means to make their own food, it will be a much more robust system. This is the goal of my project GrowFood.crypto/.dao. But it has only just started. Where I’m located now in Georgia, the country, almost everyone grows food in their backyards, and many sell their organic produce cheap on the street corners. I think it’s critical that people stop taking food for granted. Rely on yourself, your family and those close to you rather than an organization like the UN.

You are based in Tsibili in Georgia but originally you are from Sweden, the easy-going land of freedom and prosperity. What made you decide to leave that behind for an adventure in the East?

I moved to Tbilisi in Georgia a year ago and I had many reasons for it. I quit my job as an Industrial Designer where I had worked for ten years and gave away most of my things. Took the plane here with only two bags and a backpack. It looked like there was more regulations coming due to the Covid situation, so I had to move quick. I had a few projects going that did just not fit well with EU regulations, so I needed to get out. There are many business advantages in Georgia compared to Sweden and it is much cheaper to live. As of the last few years I see Sweden as a bit of a sinking ship. There have been some incredibly detrimental political decisions made in Sweden that has made it a bad place to raise a family for the coming years. I want to start a family, build my projects and simply put… Georgia is a much better place for this than Sweden. So, I embarked on this little adventure to the east as you put it.

You have an amazing NFT domain collection with some intriguing mints. For example, you have ANNUNAKI.CRYPTO. How and why do you come up with such creative mints and would you be willing to explain to the uninitiated what ANNUNAKI is?

Mmm, the name of the gods who claim to have created humans from the Sumerian stories. I have an interest in ancient history and saw the tablets, statues and figurines in the Museum in London 2016. If the gods of old want to own their domain names… they know how to contact me.

Another interesting NFT domain in your collection is MINDCONTROL.CRYPTO. What is mind control? Does it really exist? Is it a SCIENCE fiction concept from Hollywood movies? We live in a world where people are more informed than previous decades. We have google search and we can just google information at the click of a button. Surely, we must be the most informed generation of all time?

MindControl.crypto is a bit of a controversial domain. Well yes, the people of today have more information available to them than any other in history. However, the quality of the information consumed is generally of lower and lower quality. Mind Control is such a common occurrence that people can’t even see it for what it is. Our minds are influenced by very well constructed commercials, political campaigns and news reports. Propaganda is a very deep subject and makes use of psychological triggers and subliminals. Values, perspectives and even the way most people act, and talk is shaped. This is mind control on a macro stage but there is also the individual focused mind control. It’s used on military personnel, intelligence operatives and others as a tool by all the superpowers of today and is also used by some religions, cults and secret societies to a degree. Enhanced abilities, memory and psychological manipulation to give the subject the right motivation to do whatever the job or roll requires. This is very well documented and if you want an example there is project MK Ultra in the US. They used hypnosis, drugs and trauma with great success. Bill Clinton acknowledged the existence of the project officially and some of the test victims got paid for their mental and physical damages. Not nice.

You also own REMOTEVIEWING.CRYPTO. What is this amazing concept, and do you think that this psychic ability exists IRL or will it be possible in the metaverse, where you can remote view other metaverses from your current metaverse?

Remote Viewing is a fascinating subject. The ability to gain information through time and space that is verifiable. Vibes well with current days physicist talking about quantum entanglement. I don’t think there is anything supernatural about this but rather it seems to be an ability that is dormant with many living beings. Techniques developed by The US Military and The Soviet Union during the cold war made it more of a refined practice. I recommend checking out

You are one of the few people I know who owns a 3 letter NFT DOMAIN, SUB.CRYPTO. It’s so cool. How did you mint that one? It must have cost a fortune!

In total I have Sub.crypto, Sub.zil and Big.zil. I first bought the two .zil before .crypto was on the scene. I think they went for $250 each. Not much compared with today but I can tell you that it was a bit much for me at the time. Still, I thought it would be a good investment in a few years. Talking to friends about it made me sound like a complete madman. Then the .crypto was released they were reserved for the previous owner of the equivalent .zil. So, I had first dibs on both Big.crypto and Sub.crypto and we all got credits to buy at the same time. First Airdrop. But the Big domain had increased in value even after I bought it so the Big.crypto was not possible for me to buy with the credits I got. Instead, I got the Sub.crypto and a bigger load of other prime .crypto domains so it’s all good. I believe Sub.crypto has some potential. Waiting for subdomains come online.

What are your thoughts on the current 3digit bull run at unstoppable domains?

Earlier this year when the 3-digit domains were released for $150 I was ready to pick up at least one. There where so many cool ones available but I grabbed the one I wanted. 322.nft. Though it would make for a good NFT-art piece. The interest has been phenomenal. Happy to see all the FOMO into 3-digits that you own and not rent. I think we have only seen the start of it. Let’s go adoption!

What other utilities and capabilities are you expecting to see from unstoppable domains in the near future?

Oh, so many things. I’m waiting for the subdomains that will be so useful. I have more than four projects that will utilize this feature to a great degree. Expanding the domains into the games and metaverses will be huge and I have high expectations for that. But later expanding the domains into Web3 markets, business and social media… We really are in the very beginning of this great adventure.

When you are not busy with your decentralized projects, what do you like to do to relax?

I like to be closer to nature. Walk in parks, feed birds with crumps from my lunch, pet stray dogs and cats around the city. It has been a long-time hobby of mine to get in touch with nature. I love to experience the wonderful beauty that is this planet. A rare gem indeed.
