Exclusive Interview with #Capetown NFT Domains Investor and Havard Man @Ethernetexplora #Web3artblog #UDFAM @Unstoppableweb

By WEB3.ART.BLOG.NFT

A lot of intelligent and creative conceptual thought goes into minting a good NFT domain name.

It’s a skill no different from conceptualizing a great trademark or brand name.

That is why I think original NFT DOMAIN name minters whose domains don’t infringe any known trademarks should have the possibility to put a royalty on their domain sales just like original NFT creators do on OpenSea and other platforms.

This idea is controversial for some but I know many frens in the #Udfam community who would love the opportunity. In any case Unstoppable NFT Domains are owned and not rented.

In my humble opinion, a great example of a man who puts a lot of conceptual thought into his NFT DOMAINS minting strategy is @Ethernetexplora.

He is the NFT DOMAINS METHOD MAN.

He coined the phrase #UDVERSE and is super bullish about Web3. I have been following his Twitter account for a while and I can attest to his strategic blockchain NFT Domains minting and investing skills.

After all, his is a true Havard man with a degree from Harvard University.

So I encourage everyone to read and reread this informative interview because @Ethernetexplora drops some serious web3 educational germs.

@Ethernetexplora is a Havard Scholar

Question: Everytime I read your tweets I am inspired to mint something. You are absolutely bullish on Unstoppable domains and an active member of the #Udfam community. How did you get into the Unstoppable rabbit hole? What is your origin story and what was the first NFt Domain you ever minted and why?

Answer: So it was
@popdomains who first alerted me to the fantabulous opportunity of Unstoppable Domains. The fact that we could finally own a piece of the digital web was an opportunity far too great to squander. I was aware of the .com bubble and the missed opportunity there albeit in that instance they could only be rented whereas with UD, we could own the domain in our wallet. This was powerful. An opportunity not to be missed. So I latched on…and since November 2021, in approximately 8 months, I’ve become a UDWhale x2 & someone now involved directly with the main role players within the community.
Insofar as my first domain minted is concerned, I must admit that I had no idea what I was doing at the onset & was just exploring at that stage. I think it was “hellopay.wallet” because hello is a great word as a conversation opener & pay is direct…& wallet is the new word for pay in the crypto world…but the first meaningful domain I minted was “whistleblowers.x” & it is to date one of my favorites because it stands for everything web3:
➡️freedom of speech
➡️decentralization
➡️censorship resistance

Whistleblowers the likes of Assange, Snowden, etc. were never allowed true freedom to express themselves & were constantly engaged in the cloak & dagger games looking over their shoulders. With web3, and UD’s NFT domains, the information can be posted free from the fear of censorship. So this domain is my most memorable from the earlier ones & one which is in-line with web3 ideals. 👊🏻

Question: You publish and constantly update a thread on premium UD sales on the secondary market. It’s a very informative thread and thank you on behalf of #UDFAM for doing so. My question is why are you super bullish about Unstoppable domains?

Answer: You’re most welcome. As a person who appreciates the subject of logic, let me exhibit why I am super bullish on UD in terms of logical principles in syllogistic reasoning:

Premise One: Anything than can be owned (over rental) is of value.
Premise two: Unstoppable Domains are NFT domains that are owned, not rented.
Conclusion: Therefore, Unstoppable Domains are of value.

That alone exhibits something astoundingly different in the world of domains because dotcoms are immensely valuable but can never be owned, and are open to censorship or confiscation. Hence UD domains move up in value in this regard.

The only difference right now is “utility” and on the domain itself, Unstoppable Domains has a greater utility than any dotcom in the world…the only difference being that the world is yet to experience it, and just like me, I believe that the people of the world are looking for “opportunity”, the chance to “own” their digital identity as opposed to renting it.

Why am I so bullish on Unstoppable Domains? Simple. It’s a no-brainer for the erudite to own something they could only rent before!

Question: You are based in Capetown. How is the appetite for Web3, decentralization and blockchain domains in South Africa? Do you see Unstoppable domains gaining mainstream adoption in the motherland?

Answer: Yes I am proud to be one of the few South Africans representing UD daily.
Unfortunately, being down below in the Southern Hemisphere, we tend to get everything last, though the internet & social media trends has made the world a lot smaller and accessible. There are some crypto tech companies here, but their work is mainly for companies overseas. My mission now is to onboard South Africans & soon I will be launching a local site partnering with UD to fulfill this (we are halfway there already). Once we are ready to go, South Africans will be able to purchase Unstoppable Domains locally, & I will be marketing UD in the 3 major regions (Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban) before the end of the year. That’s the plan anyway. Sandy Carter has been great & she is assisting in solidifying this partnership & hopefully we can onboard South Africa & more!! #UDverse (I coined that by the way)

Question: You have ammased a collection of over 1,1k NFT domains. What is your strategy when minting domains? What questions do you ask yourself before minting and have you ever regretted any mints?

Answer: Gosh I wish I could go back into the past & give past me some advice! I also wish I had met
@dontgetdashed
earlier because after chatting with him (my #UDbrother) I got to understand things a lot more.
Most people make the error of taking web2 trends first & I get that, but there’s no guarantee that it’s going to apply to web3. Consider the ffg:
Say you have a dotcom called Ethernet.com but your company name is ethernerexplorer. Now sure I could secure etherernet.crypto but i would still need to secure Ethernetexplorer.crypto…Why? Well imagine if there is a brand or company that you own but  someone else secures it on web3…I mean there’s no rental here. It’s forever! But more importantly, if the owner of that domain sends crypto to some dodgy name, and that gets registered on the blockchain, it’s not great for your brand. So better to secure it because that transaction with the names is transparent on the blockchain.

I would advise domainers to search for concepts, themes, tech, emerging within the web3 space first because those are your potentially customers. Also, gamer-ID’s, or cool crypto names with bragging rights that everyone is going to want to have & sign the blockchain ledger with. For instance I have;
blockchainfounder.crypto – who wouldn’t want to have that as their crypto wallet address?
Surnames & common first names are a winner. Get those! Also, unique names or domains that mean something to people…those are important. But most important, #HODL – don’t let them off cheap!

Question: Besides building an NFt Domains empire, what do you do to relax in your personal life?

Answer: I’m an avid football (soccer) fan. I play it whenever I can & watch it as often as possible. Sports is a great way to connect with other people & share in the passion as well. It’s no surprise that I have some sport domains too. I also love writing…I have a degree from Harvard in persuasive writing but I tend to only bring that side of me out when writing on more serious topics that I am passionate about. Above all of that, I am big on family. I can literally spend all my time with my family & that will be enough. My wife & kids mean the world to me…and my desire is to help poverty stricken peoples when I make those big sales!

@Ethernetexplora

Question: How do you see Web3 evolving in say 10 years from now?

Answer: In 10 years, web3 will be where web2 is now…everywhere. Why? Because it makes sense to the people that matter…the global populace who will no longer be users but “members”, who will no longer be renters but “owners”, who longer have their data sold but are “owners” of their own data, who will no longer have multiple usernames & forget their passwords but one identity across the chain & one wallet to connect, who will no longer have to go through middle men but have “direct” access.
Which sane person chooses those former options over the latter? And believe today are going to choose web3 tomorrow…they just don’t know about it…yet! 🤝
