Exclusive Interview with Princess Of The Dark #Azerbaijan NFT Artist @ms_derdekea #WomeninNFTs

By Editor In Chief

“Different colours same soul,” is the motto of Princess Of The Dark NFT project by Ms.Derdekea.

When I first gained contact with her truly unique NFT art, I was taken aback.

To see blackness depicted with such grace and the beauty it deserves is breath taking.

As an African, I am always troubled by some unflattering historical western art depictions of black people. A good example is the Black Americana art of the 1800s. It disgusts me.

Africa was called the “Dark Continent” and black people “Dark and lost souls”.

Even today there are some NFT projects out there with racist undertones.

However, Ms.Derdekea’s Princess Of The Dark NFT project not only honors black people but all people everywhere.

I am truly proud and honored to present to you this exciting and exclusive Interview.

Question: When I first came across your art, I was struck by your exceptional use of the color black. I frankly thought you were of African descent because of the mysterious and powerful way you captured blackness. Where do you come from and what is your artistic background?

Answer: I am 25 years old. I am of Turkish descent. The country where I was born and grew up is Azerbaijan. Now I live in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
I have always had an interest in fashion since I was a kid. When I was child, I chose my own clothes. Since then, the harmony of colors has always been important to me. One of my outfits should have complemented the other in color. If my outfit and hairstyle didn’t go the way I wanted, they couldn’t have taken me anywhere that day. The love of harmony of colors started since childhood.
When I was little, my late grandfather always called me a fashion designer
And from a child age, my family saw my love for this color harmony and creation and enrolled me in an art course. I took various art education classes. So since then drawing has become an activity for me.

Question: Have you ever visited Africa? If not were in Africa would you like to visit and would you like to collaborate with some African artists?

Answer: No, I haven’t been to any African country. But I really want to go there, and that’s part of my plans for the future. The African country has always interested me with its culture lifestyle, etc.
When I was at university, there were African students in other faculties. I wanted to communicate with them more often. They were very friendly people. In a conversation with them, they said that they were very happy to study in our country.
As our project develops, I plan to include African artists in our team. Our relations with Africa will always continue.

Question: The slogan of your Princess of Darkness is very catchy and hides some deeper meanings. Could you please tell us more about that?

Answer: Every woman is born a princess. When I was looking for a name for the collection, the first thing that came to my mind was the name “Princess of the dark”.
I have always hated injustice, racism, discrimination based on religion, country and other. For me, everyone is the same person and this should be the case for everyone.
And my motto is “Different colors same soul”
God created us all as the same person. Regardless of our color, we all carry a soul. No one can choose to be black, white, dark, fair, or anything in particular. It is ridiculous and inhumane to make fun of people due to their cultural background or colour of skin. God created everyone special and unique.
And those who make this distinction are unfortunately unaware of the sanctity and uniqueness of person creation, and the fact that God has breathed into every human being from own spirit.
I wrote more about this topic on my website
The purpose of this collection is to support women, ensure equality, build healthy and strong community.

Question: When and how did you get into NFTS and what has been your experience?

4.Answer.I graduated from the Department of International Relations and Literature. I started working after graduating from university. And that was when the coronavirus was so prevalent. Therefore, a heavy quarantine regime was applied. And in those days I came across a video about NFT on youtube. The first time I heard this name, it caught my attention. And I watched many youtube videos about NFT. I was so excited watching this and immediately wanted to be a part of this community. And I made a decision and started. I loved this work because I wanted my work to be seen by different people from around the world and meeting different people from around the world made me very happy and excited. My goal has always been to support people and remind them of their strength. And based on this purpose, I created the “Princess of the dark”.
Since December 2021, I have been in the world of NFT.
My aim is to introduce this collection and carry it to more advanced levels.

And I believe I can do it !

Question: How is the bear market affecting your artwork and motivation?

Answer: I don’t let any obstacle affect me. If I have started on a path, no obstacle that comes my way can stop me. There are always difficulties in life. Life has its ups and downs. The important thing is to stand upright after these difficulties. No matter how hard I faced, I never gave up. I think I resemble my father in my warrior spirit. I always continued on the path I believed in with my heart. So this bear market will never affect my collection. An easy victory is not a victory. I love victory after difficulties.
My motivation for this work is my mother, father, sister and people in the NFT world who trust me and my art waiting to be created.

Question: Besides making art, what do you like to do to relax?

Answer: I choose nature as the best place to relax. I love nature. Nature inspires me more to create. I take care to feed the birds and cats and make time for them every day. This makes me incredibly happy and refreshes my energy. We are all part of nature. We should spend time alone in nature to refresh our own soul and listen to our own inner voice. I also do sports and meditation from time to time to relax.

Question: How do you see the NFT space evolving in say 10 years from now?

Answer: I think in 10 years, NFT will be 100 times more valuable than it is now. A new world order is being established now. Everything is becoming more digital, and now everyone will become a part of this digital world.
I believe that with NFT my project will grow and become legendary.
