Question: You are one of the early adopters of Nft domains as early as 2018 and you have amassed a massive collection of over 400. How did you come across them?
Answer: The first time I became aware of Unstoppable Domains was in late 2019. I was watching a YT video by crypto influencer @TheMoonCarl In this video he introduced UD (Unstoppable Domains).
It reminded me of an experience I had in the past. In 1997, a friend advised me to invest in domains, but I ignored it. At this point, I wasn’t even aware that the Internet as a whole would succeed.
Question: What made you decide to invest heavily in them?
Answer: I’ve decided that when it comes to the next step in the Internet evolution, Web3, I don’t want to miss the boat again. I started investing in UDs.
Not that heavily at first. But when the new TLDs launched in 2021, there was an epic airdrop by UD. Their customers received $3 in promo credits for every dollar spent so far. For me that was $14.2k in promo credits.
At the time, my head was full of domain name ideas. I spent almost all of the credits in one day.
From then on I got really passionate on the UD project. It motivated me, to expand my UD collection. So far I have minted almost 500 UDs.

Question: Captainbitcoin.x is probably one of the coolest Web3 NFT domain names out there and an easy to remember brand. How did you decide on that name and the official logo for Captainbitcoin.x is also pretty awesome
Answer: The idea of ‘Captain Bitcoin’ came to me from a comics hero from my childhood: “Captain Future”

I added a Bitcoin Logo to his chest and his belt and ‘Captain Bitcoin’ was born. I minted the domain captainbitcoin.x

Question: Can you talk about your experience buying and selling Web3 NFT domains?
I really enjoy buying Unstoppable Domains. Probably similar to how most women (I’ve met so far) love shopping shoes. The crux of the matter when buying domains is having good domain name ideas.
For domain investors, name ideas are the capital. This takes some practice and experience. First I started with brands. I studied brand indices and looked for the non-protected ones. At the same time, I listed my UDs for sale on OpenSea.
I’ve been watching UD sales on OS and what type of domains are getting the most views. I found that domains with certain keywords do well. Like ‘doge’, ‘web3’, ‘nft’ or starting with ‘my’.
So I expanded my search to include these domain names. By time I gained experience and a feeling for good names. By “good names” I mean a good price-performance ratio.
It’s easy to think in categories like 5letters, 4letters, numbers are included, and determine prices from that. But this is too simple for a logical and realistic pricing. The challenge is to find UDs that are missed by the search algorithm. Those are the real bargains.
For the first few months I offered UDs for sale on OpenSea. I sold 7 UDs in total, very profitable. My top sell was the UD
“mybets.888” for 0.35eth, which was $680 at the time. My UDs haven’t been listed on OpenSea for about half a year.
I’m keeping them and waiting for a better selling opportunity in the future, when NFT domains get more attention as it is right now.
For me it’s a long-term investment. Things are moving fast in Web3, we shouldn’t lose patience. Considering how long it took Web2 domains to achieve mass adoption as we know it today, I am very optimistic about the future of NFT domains as digital identity on Web3.

Question: You live in Bavaria in Germany. Could you tell us about Bavarian culture and food? Maybe you should mint some Bavarian white sausage NFTs too just for fun.
Answer: Traditional Bavarian food is generally hearty and very filling, with many meat and potato-based dishes.
Restaurants in Bavaria offer many different types of meat dishes, including beef, chicken, turkey and lamb.
On traditional menus pork dishes feature prominently, such as “Schweinshaxe” (pork knuckle) or “Schweinebraten” (pork roast).
Many restaurants and takeaways also sell “Leberkäse” a type of meatloaf or “Weißwurst” White sausages, generally served with sweet mustard, often accompanied by a side dish of potato salad or “Sauerkraut”, a kind of pickled cabbage, or by a pretzel (“Brezn”).

What is Bavarian culture? Bavarians have traditionally been proud of their culture, which includes a language, cuisine, architecture, festivals such as “Oktoberfest” and elements of Alpine symbolism. The state also has the second largest economy among the German states by GDP figures, giving it a status as a rather wealthy German region.

Question: You are a very active member of the #UDfam Web3 NFTdomains community, especially on Twitter. What has been your experience interacting with the community and Unstoppabledomains?
